Death of a Hero

Today, my wife lost her Grandfather, my kids lost their Great Grandfather, and the Country lost a bonafide WWII Hero. He was with the "Iron Men of Metz" (2) Silver Stars, (1) Bronze Star, (1) Purple Heart, (1) Croix de Guerre. He earned (1) Silver Star for crossing 100 yards of an opened field and single handedly taking out a German MG 42 crew.
